CitiCapital, a major financial services organization, was implementing Oracle Financial Applications in a newly-acquired division. The project required customization of the ERP, development of new business processes, and creation of training materials. Since the project had a very tight timeline, all three steps had to occur simultaneously.
However, due to the combination of the new ERP, new processes, and new division, it was difficult to define the training scope and audience prior to the go-live date. Additionally, CitiCapital ’s entire management and training staff were heavily involved in the implementation process, so they were unable to fully devote themselves to training development. CitiCapital needed a dedicated resource who was not involved in other aspects of the implementation to keep up with the constantly shifting direction of the Oracle application training project.
Intulogy augmented CitiCapital ’s resources by providing a consultant whose mission was driven by one key concept: flexibility. The consultant was assigned solely to the development of implementation training materials, which freed the CitiCapital ’s training staff to focus on other implementation issues. This dedicated resource could be redirected as training needs evolved.
Multiple versions of the course materials were developed for diversified levels of training needs. Each individual module could be modified to incorporate additions or changes to business processes. This multi-layered approach allowed the materials to be used as needed by various potential audiences.
The consultant maintained a flexible schedule as well. Part of each week was spent gathering information and attending development meetings at CitiCapital’s site. The rest of the week was spent working offsite on a remote basis. Travel expenses were therefore minimized without affecting CitiCapital ’s access to the consultant.

Intulogy provided a consultant with the right qualifications for the job—experience, skill, and flexibility. The consultant assigned to this project had experience with Oracle 11i Financial Applications implementation, and with the development of business processes and training materials.
Benefit to the Client
The additional dedicated resource allowed CitiCapital ’s managers and trainers to focus on other development issues. The necessary Oracle application training materials could be developed, adapted, and redirected as needed. The flexibility of scheduling allowed CitiCapital to have full access to the consultant while reducing travel costs.
CitiCapital is very satisfied with the materials developed for its implementation training project. The format allowed for flexibility as the processes and the audiences were identified. Coursework was delivered in time for pilot training. As a result of the relationships developed on this assignment, CitiCapital has subsequently returned to Intulogy for additional projects.
